Hi, I’m Heather
(aka: the “Fisk” in Fisk Therapy).
Glad you’re here!
How I Got Here
Apparently, the long way was the right way.
The early days
I started out in marketing, with a Bachelor of Business Administration and a career that took me through real estate marketing, seniors’ living, retail environments, and even non-profit work. When I say I’m a “woman of many things…”
The curiosity
But underneath all of that, I’ve always been fascinated by people: what makes us tick, how we connect, why we repeat certain patterns, and what helps us feel more like ourselves.
The pivot
Over time, coaching, Human Design, and my own seasons of overwhelm, burnout, self-doubt, and redirection started pulling me in an entirely new direction.
Today
Eventually, that curiosity became a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and, well, here we are! Going back to school in my 30s was hard as hell, and definitely not on my bingo card, but I’m endlessly grateful that I honoured my intuition and followed through. Little me would be so proud of herself!
What I Believe About Therapy
I have a few thoughts and opinions about therapy…
I don’t think going to therapy means there’s something wrong with you. It doesn’t mean you failed, you’re weak, or you somehow couldn’t handle life on your own. Those ideas are outdated, and frankly, a little bullshit.
Now that we’ve covered what I think therapy isn’t…
I think therapy can be part of your wellness practice, just like moving your body, eating well, getting enough sleep, or doing whatever else helps you feel like yourself.
In fact, I’m a big believer in coming to therapy before the house is on fire. You don’t have to wait until everything falls apart to ask for support.
Therapy is one of the few places in life where you don’t have to take care of anyone else. This time is about you: your wants, your needs, your relationships, your trauma, your happiness, and figuring out what a life that feels good to you actually looks like.
You get someone in your corner. Someone who can cheer you on, challenge you when you need it, and help you find your way through the messy bits.
My approach is integrative, which is a fancy way of saying I don’t believe one therapy modality magically works for everyone.
I draw from the BPS-CRSJ framework and strengths-based, client-centred approaches, incorporating tools and ideas from EMDR, IFS, ACT, somatics, mindfulness, relational therapy, narrative therapy, and solution-focused work.
What we use, and when we use it, totally depends on you. Your history, your goals, your nervous system, your personality, and what actually feels useful.
Some things in my therapy toolbox:
EMDR · Somatics · IFS · ACT · CBT · Mindfulness · Relational · Narrative · Solution-Focused
So, what actually happens in therapy?
A few of my therapy non-negotiables…
01 — You are the expert
You know yourself better than anyone. You’re in the driver’s seat; I’m here to help you navigate.
02 — The relationship matters
The therapeutic relationship is the meat and potatoes of this work. Honesty, transparency, trust, and integrity matter.
03 — We’re allowed to laugh
In fact, it’s encouraged! Therapy can hold some really heavy stuff. It can also hold a good laugh, a ridiculous story, or a well-timed “well, that’s rude.”
04 — I’m in your corner
Sometimes you need a cheerleader. Sometimes you need a gentle kick in the bum. Sometimes you need someone to teach you a new skill. I can be all three!

Me, off the clock
Current obsession:
Premier League football! Manchester City FC, specifically.
Most likely to talk your ear off about:
Psychology, astrology, Human Design… and definitely, maybe Oasis.
Biggest personality trait:
Being a cool auntie, obviously.
Desert island album:
An Oasis box set or compilation album.
BUT, if I had to choose just one… (What’s the Story) Morning Glory.
Comfort watch:
Gilmore Girls, You’ve Got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle, pretty much anything on the Bravo network, and of course, the Great British Baking Show.
Currently listening to:
British Scandal.
Unexpected nerd-out:
History! Special shout-outs to the Georgians, Edwardians, WWII, and the many wives of Henry VIII.
Something I’ll never stop being curious about:
Why humans do the things we do.
A life choice I’m proud of:
Building a life that feels good to me: ambitious, single, child-free, and entirely my own.
Current tarot/Human Design status:
The Chariot: Willpower, determination, successful momentum after overcoming obstacles.

So, what will it be like to work together?
You don’t need to show up with a five-year plan, a well-articulated reason for being here, or your shit completely together. You just need to show up. We’ll start there.
If you’re looking for someone who can hold the hard stuff, ask the questions that make you think, laugh with you along the way, and remind you that you’re more capable than you think…
We might be a good fit.
